1940--VICTOR MATURE--HUSKY, HANDSOME, AND HEALTHY (PART 2)
Then one day he stopped his car in the middle of a Louisville street, decided he wanted a different life, drove straight to Pasadena's celebrated Community Playhouse and began an acting apprenticeship. Sixty plays later (during which time he lived in a tent in somebody's back yard) he was doing star roles. It was then that Hal Roach found him, signed him on a long-term contract, is now starring him in "1,000,000 B.C." Victor is six feet three, weighs an even 200 pounds, is a former Golden Gloves boxer, has blue eyes, black hair, a matinee idol's profile; is addicted to acting, fast workouts in the gym.
