SEPTEMBER 1940--CAUTION IN THE PIRATE'S DEN

"Who goes there?" was the cry that met "Captain Caution" (Vic Mature) and his gang, as they entered the Pirate's Den, Hollywood's newest star-owned night club. After a hectic night location jaunt on Hal Roach's "Captain Caution," the watchword was "all's fun in love and war." So Vic's gang took over in true pirate style. They gave the Den merry walk-the-plank treatment à la "Caution."

The stars who own "pieces" of this place for madjinks are Bing Crosby, Rudy Vallee, Ken Murray and others. They're surprised and pleased to find it jammed nightly. The fun, at one dollar and fifty cents minimum, brings out stars and "just folks."

Pictured below are Carole Landis and her escort Victor Mature.
